Rain that soaks the ground
Wet weather settles in from fall through spring, and heavy storms can soak the ground for days. Once the soil cannot hold any more, water looks for the lowest point of the house, leading to a flooded basement or water seeping through the foundation. Wind-driven rain also works under worn shingles and flashing, causing roof leak water damage in attics and ceilings.
